The story of InQ Tax doesn't start in a boardroom; it starts in a busy tax office during the height of tax season. Our founder, a tax professional just like you, grew tired of juggling spreadsheets, sticky notes, and clunky software just to keep track of client returns. There had to be a better, more streamlined way to manage the front office. When a search for the right tool came up empty, the solution was clear: build it.

That necessity led to the creation of InQ Check-in, a simple but powerful system designed to do one thing perfectly: track the status of every return in the office. It was built from the ground up with the real-world needs of a tax practice in mind.

As InQ Check-in started making a difference in that first office, a bigger vision began to form. What if that same streamlined, no-nonsense approach could be applied to the entire client relationship? That question sparked the development of InQ CRM, expanding the core functionality of Check-in into a full-featured client management system.

Today, we're continuing to build on that vision. With InQ Ledger currently in development, we're taking aim at the accounting side of the practice, creating a genuine, streamlined alternative to more complex solutions like QuickBooks. Our mission is to provide tax professionals with the exact tools they need, without the bloat they don't.
