Drop off. Sign.
Done in 9 days.

No back-and-forth. No login-portal-password-reset rabbit holes. Just a real human reading your return.

Note from the preparers Working with us doesn't require a smartphone or an app. If you'd rather drop off a manila envelope and have a 20-minute conversation, that's the whole process. We're fine with that.

Preparers

Just Harrison
and Kim.

We met at a CPA review course in 2007, opened a one-room office near 75th & Wornall in 2009, and have been doing tax returns from that same building ever since. The lobby has a plant. The plant has a name.

Why this matters The name on your return is the person actually preparing it. Not a "tax associate" three desks deep. Not someone in a different time zone. Either Harrison or Kim — same person, every year.

1b Represented clients in three IRS audits since 2016, all closed no-change.

1c Two kids, a wife who runs a bakery on 39th Street, and an unwavering belief that the Royals will be good again.

2c Rescues retired greyhounds, runs the Brookside half-marathon every October, and reads tax court memos in bed.

Q&A index

Things our first-time
clients ask.

Don't see your question? Call (816) 555-0140 and ask Janet. She's been here since 2009 — she's heard it before.
Q1 What does a return cost? +

Most individual returns land between $295 and $495 depending on complexity (a couple of W-2s sits at the low end; a return with rentals, RSUs, and a Schedule D is closer to the top). We'll quote you up front before any work begins — no surprises on the back end.

Q2 Do I have to come in, or can it all be remote? +

Either works. Roughly 60% of our clients do the whole thing remotely — secure upload, phone review, e-sign. The other 40% prefer to sit across the desk and we love them for it.

Q3 What's an Enrolled Agent (EA), and why does it matter? +

An EA is a federally-licensed tax practitioner. We pass three exams administered by the IRS, do 72 hours of continuing education every three years, and are admitted to practice before the IRS in any state. Both Harrison and Kim are EAs — which means if you ever get audited, we can represent you anywhere in the country.

Q4 Can you fix returns from prior years? +

Yes. We do back-filings (3+ years of missed returns) and amendments (1040-X) regularly. If your old preparer made an error and you're owed money, you generally have three years from the original due date to amend and claim the refund.

Q5 When should I be making appointments? +

We open our season calendar the first Monday of January. Earlier is better — slots before Valentine's Day fill within two weeks. Returning clients get priority booking the week before we open to the public.

Q6 Will I work with the same preparer every year? +

Yes, on purpose. Either Harrison or Kim takes ownership of your file from day one and you'll have them every year unless someone retires. Marcus and Sandra assist on prep, but a partner reviews and signs every return.
